You may know Toyah Wilcox, post-punk singer songwriter in the 80s, and Robert Fripp, longest member of the Progressive Rock band King Crimson… But did you know they were happily married for about 40 years, and were up to all kind of crazy on they YouTube web serie “Toyah & Robert Sunday Lunch”?
The least we can tell is that these two don’t take themselves seriously. And it is delicious. They Sunday Lunch is a series of little video clip of them, in their kitchen, playing iconic Rock songs. And they are quite successful too! Each video gets around 150k views in average… The pair covers a wide variety of songs like Sympathy for the Devil, Zombie, Living in America, or Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).
As the Christmas Festive period is coming, the duo decided to leave the kitchen and bring their party on tour. They will perfom live some of Toyah’s hits (It’s A Mystery, I Want To Be Free) and of course their own twisted version of many other popular songs (Welcome to the Jungle, Heroes, Rebels Yell and many more). The Toyah & Robert’s Christmas Party will go around the UK for 5 dates :
- Dec 16: Edinburgh Queens Hall, UK
- Dec 17: Sunderland The Firestation, UK
- Dec 19: Bath Komedia, UK
- Dec 20: London Indigo At The O2, UK
- Dec 22: Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall Tickets, UK

So to get in the mood, the Sunday Lunch shifted a little bit, and instead their usual rock playlist, Toyah & Robert went full on Christmas sing-along mode with some Xmas classic like Holy Night or Ding dong merrily on high by George Ratcliffe Woodward… They dress as citizens of Whoville, mangle their words, histerical laughs and it is just magic…
