Up in the Air

This announcement has prompted renewed discussion around Morrissey and the many uncertainties surrounding him. In particular, the never-ending world tour Morrissey seems to be on. Furthermore whether or not it will continue and continue without interruptions. The former Smith’s singer will return to the stage 10 January in San Antonia.

In addition to this, fans have raised the question what has become of Bonfires for Teenagers, an album Morrissey had previously teased. It was to include features from Iggy Pop, Flea and Chad Smith. As well as a song addressing the 2017 Manchester bombings. Record labels appear to have scrapped the project reportedly fearing its release. Yet fans are still curious to hear whether in any case this album might be released.

A Controversial Career

Many reasons record labels have been reluctant to release Bonfires for Teenagers, is attributed to Morrissey’s politics and controversial views. This resulted after Morrissey released his 2020 album I Am Not a Dog On a Chain while simultaneously campaigning for far-right political party,For Britain.

Morrissey got the rights for Bonfires for Teenagers but was unable to find a distributor to release it. Who knows when or if it will ever see the light of day. In the meanwhile the release of Makeup Is A Lie is sure to spark interest from his fans eager to discover new material from Bigmouth.
