Producer of the Year
PinkPantheress has become the first woman to win the Producer of the Year award at the Brit Awards, marking a significant development in the history of the ceremony. Organisers announced the award ahead of this year’s event in London. The Producer of the Year category recognises outstanding achievement in recorded music production. Since its introduction in 1977, the award has gone exclusively to male recipients. PinkPantheress now becomes the first woman to receive the honour and at 24, she is also the youngest ever recipient of the accolade.
Build – Up
The London-born artist has built her career through a distinctive approach to songwriting and production. She writes and produces much of her own material, combining elements of UK garage, drum and bass and alternative pop. Her work has attracted both commercial success and critical recognition in the United Kingdom and internationally. In a statement issued following the announcement, PinkPantheress said it felt “bittersweet” to be the first woman to receive the award. She described music production as central to her artistic identity and expressed appreciation for her collaborators and supporters.
The 2026 BRIT Awards ceremony will take place in London later this week, where leading figures from across the British music industry will gather to celebrate achievements from the past year. PinkPantheress also appears among the nominees in additional categories, reflecting her growing influence within the sector.
Recgonition
The Producer of the Year honour recognises outstanding achievement in music production and has been presented by the British Phonographic Industry since 1977. No female producer had previously won the award in its nearly five decades of history. PinkPantheress, whose real name is Victoria Walker, earned the award for her work throughout 2025. That year she released the mixtape Fancy That and the remix project Fancy Some More?, both of which drew widespread acclaim. Her mixtape featured the viral tracks “Illegal” and “Stateside” and followed earlier chart success with the 2022 hit “Boy’s a Liar.”
Other Nominations
PinkPantheress also holds nominations in other major categories at this year’s BRIT Awards, including Artist of the Year and Best Dance Act. The ceremony will take place on Saturday at Manchester’s Co-Op Arena and will feature performances by leading artists such as Harry Styles, Olivia Dean and Rosalía. Her success has sparked discussion about opportunities for women in technical and creative roles within the industry.
