Gibson hits Trump Guitars with cease-and-desist

So if you thought you had seen it all… think again… After the iconic MAGA red cap, the MAGA t-shirts…here is the MAGA guitar! If you would be crazy enough to express the desire of being the proud owner of such powerful item (to light it on fire on stage maybe?), look for Trump Guitars.

Well, Gibson is having none of it and decide to hit 16 Creative, the owner of Trump Guitar, with a cease-and-desist warning “as the design infringes upon Gibson’s exclusive trademarks, particularly the iconic Les Paul body shape.” See for yourself

The Presidential Series – with the President’s name inlaid in the neck of the Guitar – Tremendously fancy uh ?

The website offers three different series:

The Presidential Series (with the name of the president inlaid on the neck of the guitar),
The American Eagle Series (very tacky, with a bald eagle painted with an american flag)
and The God Bless the USA series…

The website claims these are officially the only guitars “fully endorsed by President Donald J. Trump”. The front page even features a picture of the President holding an accoustic American Eagle series. They also claim he autographed 275 guitars and sells those for $10.500 (as opposed to $1.250 for the un-signed ones)… But I wouldn’t bet on the authenticity of the signature given the poorly photoshopped picture chosen to illustrate the product.
